Married William Preston Lovejoy about 1848 in Cabell County, (West) Virginia. William, his father, and three of his brothers (John, Joseph, and Richard) all served in the 187 Boone Militia in Capt. Spurlock's "A" Company. Joseph and Richard also went on to serve in the 7th WV Cavalry. During the war, William was active with Robert and Alfred Allen Hager in recruiting militia loyal to the Union.
