    Published in the Carleton Messenger - Martha Dewitt Webster was born in Perry, Wyoming Co., NY on May 31, 1830. She removed to Michigan in 1847 and married Porter Webster of Exeter, MI on April 10, 1851. She died Jun 8, 1905, aged 75yrs & 8days. The aged husband and 5 children, George of Ash Center, Charles of Romulus, Frank of Toledo, OH, Daniel of Rockwood, and Mary Webster Jackson of Ash Center, with 18 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren sorrow over this first break in the family circle. She was one of a large family and 2 brothers & 1 sister & many nieces & nephews will miss her loving welcome. 38yrs ago she was united with the F.M. church during the ministry of Rev.E.P.Hart and was ever a faithful & consistent member, while the large company friends & neighbors who gathered at the home to pay the final tribute of respect, testified to the esteen with which she was regarded in the community. The funeral was held from her late home on Sun Jun 11, 1905, the service being conducted by Rev.Fortress, of Waltz. Interment took place in the Grafton Cemetery.
