Martha Stewart (Bulloch) "Mittie" Roosevelt (July 8, 1835 – February 14, 1884) was an American socialite. Roosevelt was also the mother of U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt and the paternal grandmother of Eleanor Roosevelt. She was a great-granddaughter of Archibald Bulloch, grandniece of William Bellinger Bulloch, and granddaughter of General Daniel Stewart. A true Southern belle, Roosevelt is thought to have been one of the inspirations for Scarlett O'Hara.
