Funeral of Mrs. Martha Ard. St. Francisville, La., Aug. 5---News was received here this morning of the death of Mrs. Martha Ard, at Angie, La., where she had gone to visit relatives. Mrs. Ard had been a resident of this parish for the past twenty-five years, coming from Washington Parish with her husband, the late John W. Ard, who served his native parish as Sheriff for a number of years. Her remains were brought here today over the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad, and interment made in the family burying ground in the Ninth Ward. Mrs. Ard is survived by two children---Mrs. Fred O. Hamilton and A. W. Ard, both of St. Francisville.
