Facts and Events
Adrian Abbott writes: Mother is incorrectly described in Roydon register as Mary JOLLY. Further investigation shows that there was a Mary JOLLY who died aged 72 in 1831, and she lived in Parsonage Green, Roydon, as did the Nobles. She was quoted as being the widow of "Jolly", also of "Noble", and born as Mary ALDRIDGE. Mary DOWNING nee ALDRIDGE married John JOLLY in Bressingham in 1798. I think the vicar was confused and wrote NOBLE instead of DOWNING, so she was actually Thomas Noble's mother-in-law present at the christening. 1841 - Living at Roydon with parents.
