Note that the census list him as Nola W. NIX; review to see where I found William Noile, maybe William is the middle name. See the 1880 census, that was the one done by his parents and it shows William N. NIX. so assume that is correct. He must have used Noile as the primary name during his adult life.

Hi, my name is Susan. I'm Flavius Morrow's oldest daughter. I remember Gramma and Grandpa Morrow quite well. I also remember the converstions about family. As far as Nolie, you're right. It was his middle name used as his first. There was a reason but I cannot recall exactly what that reason was. I found your space at rootsweb.com on a search for more info on our ancestors. Since our father's death 07 June 1983 here at this house, we've lost touch with all but a few of the Morrows. I remember hearing a gunshot and ran to find Grandma Morrow standing in the kitchen with a double barrel shotgun. There in the cabinet was what had just a minute before been a rattler. She'd opened the door to get the flour and found that pesky critter taking a snooze wrapped around the bottom of the canister. She took care of that just as she did any other critters who got into where they shouldn't have been. I cried for weeks when they passed. Still do sometimes. Anywayz, I'm taking a chance this email address is still valid and that I haven't already frightened you off.I have grandchildren of my own now and would love nothing more than to reunite them with the rest of my family. I do have a question or 2. if i'ts alright, holler back please. Take care and all that. Sincerely, Susan Carole Morrow Stone

I found your entry on Ancestry.com. I am sending information on Pinkey Nix, daughter of Nancy Lela and William Nolie Nix. Pinkey Lee Nix died in 1974. She was married to Rev. Mark Morrow (died 1972-73). One of their sons was Flavius Morrow, born 9-7-29 died July 1983. I have more information on this family such as sibling names, birth dates and death dates. If you would like, I could send it to you. Pinkey Lee Nix was my grandmother.

I didn't get to copy all the info off all the headstones in the graveyard today like I'd wanted to. The wind kicked up and gave me one heck of a bad earache. I did get the info for Grandma and the others. Unfortunately, there weren't any Nix's there other than her like I'd thought. I'll just send you the few I did get.

Pinkey Nix b. 12 Oct 1896 d. 12 Feb 1974 Rev. Mark Morrow b. 26 May 1897 d. 23 Mar 1972 m. 08 Apr 1919

"Captain" Stanley Benjamin Funk b. 12 Jan 1910 Bertha Faye Morrow b. 05 Feb. 1925 d. 14 Jan. 1998 m. 14 Jan. 1962

      • I know Aunt Bertha was married prior to Stanley and his name was Phillips so I assume this is her first. That would fit to with her3 sons prior to her marriage to Stanley being the age they are. I don't know their full names though. They are, Marshall, Donald & Leslie. I'll try to find what I can on them too.

Louis R. Phillips b. 1914 d. 1965 It just says "Father" under the dates and is right next to the Morrow's plots.

Flavius Morrow SFC U.S. Army Korea Vietnam b. 05 Sept. 1929 d. 07 Jul 1983 On his death certificate it says buried 09 Jul 1983

Leon Morrow b. 10 Oct 1931 d. 21 Mar. 1981 (Inscription says "Darling We Miss Thee" m. 15 Sept. 1956 Eunice Yvonne Minchew b. 29 Jan. 1940

Joseph Auffrey Leblanc b. 1918 d. 1979 (inscription "Beloved Husband And Father") Lela Morrow Leblanc b. 04 Sept. 1937 d. 01 Nov. 1997 ( inscription "Loving Wife Mother And Friend")

Kimberly Leblanc Joseph b. 05 Mar 1964 d. 04 Jan. 1987

That's all I have for now. I'll send you what I can as I get it. Take care. Kimmy left behind a loving huband and a 1 yr. old son.

Dear Dalton, Hope you and yours are all well. I'd promised that if I found any info I thought you might find useful, i'd let you in on it. Recently I found Grandpa Morrow's WWI Registration card. Since the full name is different than what we've always been told, i've started the process to get a copy of his birth certificate. I haven't had to do this for a grandparent before so I don't know how long it might take. When & if I do get a copy, i'll send you one as soon as I can. The difference in his name is John Mark Morrow where we always heard only Mark Morrow. That's the way it is on his head stone also as I've already told you. This makes me wonder if there's a difference in Grandma Morrow's full name as well. I'd always wondered what sort of person would name their daughter "Pinkey". Maybe that's a nick name. Don't know yet. By the way, I was typing to one of my sisters earlier and told her again about all the work you've done on the Nix side of the family. Shes very interested to correspond with you on the subject. I'd have said "talk" but this isn't talking soo.. Anyway, she asked me to send you her email address so I'm including it here. Take care.. Sincerely, Susan. Paula Tillie email address p_tillie@yahoo.com She doesn't use her isp email address for some reason. I don't recall why. Later =o)
