Rev. Mark A. Lauchnor, 90, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 in Garden Spot Village, New Holland, Pa., where he resided for the past 10 years. Born December 25, 1917 in Neffs, he was a son of the late Edwin A. and Cora Jane (Kern) Lauchnor. He married Carlene A. (Geske) Lauchnor on June 6, 1942. A retired Lutheran pastor, Mark graduated from Muhlenberg College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. He celebrated his 70th year of ordination as a Lutheran pastor this year. His parishes included St. Johns Lutheran Church, Slatington; Trinity Lutheran Church, Lehighton; St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Perkasie; St. Johns Lutheran Church, Kutztown and St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. He was a life member of Lehman Lake Rod & Gun Club in the Poconos for 63 years, where he was an avid sportsman. He served as secretary/treasurer of the club for 30 years.
Survivors: Daughters, the Rev. Dr. Janet and her husband, Joe Ramsey, of Roanoke, Va., Kathryn Lauchnor and her husband, the Rev. Robert Mathieson, of Newark, Del.; son, Terrence Mark and his wife, Deborah Lauchnor, of New Holland; grandfather to seven grandchildren, Benjamin Luedke of Bellevue, Wash., Katherine Luci of Stauton, Va., Brian Luedke of Boston, Mass., Meghan Lauchnor of Norfolk, Va., Rachel Mathieson of Wayne, Julie Lauchnor of Millersville, Pa., Kirsty Mathieson of Wayne; two stepgrandchildren, Jason Ramsey of Billington, Wash., Leigh Pollard of Roanoke; great-grandfather of McKinley Pollard (9), Samuel Pollard (3), Oliver Luci (2), Erika Luedke (2 months).
