Carlene A. Lauchnor, 86, died early Thursday morning, August 31, 2006, at Garden Spot Village, New Holland, Pa. She was born November 25, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minn., to the late Adolph and Ella Geske. She married Mark Arthur Lauchnor on June 6, 1942. A registered nurse, Carlene graduated from Allentown Hospital School of Nursing. She was director of nursing at the Lutheran Home, Telford, and charge nurse at the Lutheran Home at Topton. She was an active lay minister in the churches she loved and served, along with her husband, including St. Johns Lutheran Church, Slatington, Trinity Lutheran, Lehighton, St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Kutztown, and St. Pauls Lutheran, Fleetwood. She was a member of the Women of the E.L.C.A. and a Christian educator at those congregations. She and Mark enjoyed their vacations at Lehman Lake Rod & Gun Club in the Poconos, where they were members for 61 years. A talented cook and baker, Carlenes delight was in preparing meals for her children and grandchildren.
Survivors: Husband, Rev. Mark Lauchnor of New Holland; daughters, Rev. Dr. Janet and husband Joe Ramsey of St. Paul, Minn., Kathryn Lauchnor and husband Rev. Robert Mathieson of Newark, Del.; son, Terrence Mark and wife Deborah Lauchnor of New Holland. She was the loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Benjamin Luedke of Seattle, Wash., Katherine Luci of Charlottesville, Va., Brian Luedke of Roanoke, Va., Meghan Lauchnor of New Holland, Rachel Mathieson of Newark, Del., Julie Lauchnor of New Holland and Kirsty Mathieson of Newark, Del. She also had two stepgrandchildren, Jason Ramsey and Leigh Pollard, both of Roanoke, Va. She was the proud great-grandmother of McKinley Pollard (6), Mason Luedke (1), Samuel Pollard (1) and Oliver Luci (6 months).
