Rossville — Marjorie L. Ridenour, 88, a longtime Clinton County resident, died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville. She was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Michigantown, the daughter of William B. and Anna L. (Walker) Reed. She married Garland Edward Ridenour on April 22, 1944, in Camp Campbell, Ky., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1999.
Mrs. Ridenour was a 1942 graduate of Michigantown High School, then in 1945 she graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, working for Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Clinton County Hospital and Dr. Frederick Flora in Frankfort, Clinton Central Schools, Broward County Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.
Mrs. Ridenour was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Beard Friendship Club, RN Club of Frankfort and Volunteer Angels in Burlington.
Surviving are four sons, Steven M. (Marcella) Ridenour, Philadelphia, Douglas R. (Phyllis) Ridenour, Michigantown, N. Craig (Barbara) Ridenour, Los Angeles, and Edward A. (Patty) Ridenour, Frankfort; two brothers, John David (Susan) Reed, M.D., Fort Wayne, and Phil (Janet) Reed, Elkhart; eight grandchildren, Bryan (Michelle) Ridenour, Kevin Ridenour and Darrin Ridenour, Cindy Morton, Amos (Yuliya) Ridenour, Mary (Alex) Zamparini, Jesse (Veronica) Ridenour and Bryant (Crystal) Ridenour; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort. Visitation will begin at noon until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery.
