Person:Mariah Wykert (1)

All the information about Mariah comes through the research of her family. Her parents were Francis Wykert and Elizabeth Shafer who were born in Germany, but married after coming to the states in Berks Co. PA on 13 Oct 1783 by Rev. Wm. Boos in Reading PA.

I have copies of Deeds showing transfer of land in the Fish Creek Area of Ohio Co. VA (now Marshall Co.) from the estate of Francis Wykert where his heirs are mentioned and this includes the children of Mariah (deceased) and Wm. Anguish.

Even though Mariah and her family lived in Marshall Co. we have no information about their marriage date or place and when she died or where she was buried. She is listed in Wykert information as a child of Frances Wykert and Elizabeth Shefer, and later listed as deceased in the will of her father with her 3 children by William as heirs. Therefore we know she died before 1827.

Mariah is listed as the parent of Rebecca with William in the Marriage Book in Marshall County, WV.
