"Mrs Mariah Zimmerman (nee) Mathias, was born in Cumberland Co., Penn.,Sept 30, 1822 and passed to her Eternal Rest Feb 13, 1911, at the homeof her son Simon, aged 88 years, 4 months and 13 days. She was adaughter in a family of six children, 2 sons and four daughters, all ofwhom preceded her, excepting one sister, who resides in Milan, O. At theage of one year, she, with her parents moved to Stark county, Ohio,where they resided for 15 years, moving from there to Knox county. In1840 she was united in marriage with Adam Zimmerman to this union wasborn eleven children, 7 sons and 4 daughters, two sons and two daughterspreceding their mother to the spirit world. In 1847 they located on afarm near Amsden, where they endured the hardships of a pioneer life.They located in Sandusky county in 1863, where she remained for 48years, and her spirit was wafted to Heaven above, where angels willcrown her wih joy and love. As her husband preceded her twenty-fiveyears ago in 1885, and the pathway of life seemed dark, yet thebearuiful promises of Glory would comfort and cheer her poor heart. Herdeparture is mourned by 5 sons, two daughters, 1 sister, 46grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, besides many friends andrelatives. She was baptized in Lutheran faith and held as a standard"True principal and right". The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon,Feb 15, at Trinity church, conducted by the pastor, Rev Weltmer ofBettsville, assistaed by Rev. Bishop of this place. Interment made inTrinity cemetery."
