    Maria Parsons Harmon, daughter of George Parsons, was born in Warren in 1808, and married Heman R. Harmon in 1827. Her life was filled with good things, well done. As president of the Benevolent Society, she touched with loving hand the poor and the sick. In 1861 this society was merged into the Soldiers' Aid Society of Warren, O., she being chosen president, Mrs. Charles Howard, vice president, and Mrs. John M. Stull secretary and treasurer. Mrs. Harmon gave her time, strength, means, and also a son to the cause. In grateful remembrance of her valuable service the citizens of Warren presented her with a silver coffee and tea service, which is now in the possession of her daughter, Mrs. Clara Bradshaw, of Indianapolis, Ind....
    She spent the last years of her life in California, and died in San Leandra [sic] September, 1878.
