The Wellman family tree shows her birth date as 08 Aug 1815 in Ladbergen. Bill Roege found it to be 02 Aug 1815, (daughter, Anna Christina Elisabeth, born [02 Aug. 1815] to Gerhard and Anna nee Kuck Kuckherman) in his research of the microfilm of the Ladbergen Church Records at the LDS Library, and it has been listed in New Knoxville as 03 Aug 1815.

She was apparently "called" Elizabeth since E.R. Kuck (in his history of his grandfather, Rev. Kuckherman) refers to her as Mrs. Elizabeth Settlage, sister to Rev. F.H.W. Kuckherman. I've seen Anna and Maria switched often. This is due to the tradition of assigning a "calling" name to older children. Many baby girls were called Anna (or by their first name at christening) until they were about 2. Because so many infants died, they didn't receive their "calling" name (a middle name at christening) until it was thought they were past the "danger time frame." The same with Johann or Heinrich for boys. Arnold Meckstroth told this story about the habits of using "calling names," and others in New Knoxville have confirmed it.

Several names in this Kuckhermann family show up differently in later life. The girl born 08 Apr 1825, is named Christina Elsabein in the Ladbergen records (per Bill Roege's research) and E.R. Kuck refers to her as Caroline Sophia Lutterbein. Another record lists H.H.W. Lutterbein's wife as C. Sophia. To add to the confusion, her sister is christened as Christina Sophia Elsabein, E.R. Kuck refers to her as Sophia Christine Slack.

Also, the first son listed in Roege's database (of his research of the Ladbergen Church Records) is christened Christian Heinrich Adolph Kuckhermann. Is this the brother to Rev. Kuckhermann, J. Heinrich, that E.R. Kuck refers to, or is it a different Heinrich?

In his handwritten history about his grandfather, Rev. Kuckherman, E.R. Kuck states, "The Rev. F.H.W. Kuckhermann had two brothers - William H. and J. Heinrich and three sisters - Mrs. Sophia Christine Slack, Mrs. Caroline Sophia Lutterbein, and Mrs. Elizabeth Settlage.
