Page 6-C, The Utica Observer Dispatch, Sunday, March 1, 1928 Mrs. Mary Rohm Taken by Death Utica Woman, Long Prominent in Fraternal Circles, Dies After Illness Had Held State Offices Served on Finance Committee and as District Deputy of Utica Review, B. B. A. Mrs. Mary A. Rohm, long prominently identified with several local fraternal organizations and for many years a state officer, died at her home, 1131 Seymour Avenue; Friday night after a brief illness. Mrs. Rohm suffered a stroke of apoplexy Tuesday. After holding all the offices of Utica Review 251, Woman's Benefit Association, Mrs. Rohm was made district deputy for Oneida County and Madison Counties. She served in this capacity for several years and for 12 years was a member of the state finance committee, she was a charter member of the Utica group. She was past President and secretary of the Secretaries of Bacon Woman's Relief Corps, Past President and an active member of the Utica Unter Uns; a member of and Officer of Oneida Council 201, Degree of Pocahontas and a member of the Societies connected with the Calvary Episcopal Church, which she attended. Mrs. Rohm, whose maiden name was Mary Christ, was born in Hessen, Germany, December 28, 1850, a daughter of the late George and Magdalina Reusswig Christ. After the death of her father, which occurred when she was 14 years old, she and her mother came to this country and to Utica in 1864. In 1870 she married Anton Rohm. Mrs. Rohm passed many years of her life here and was a well known because of her character and unselfish activities. She had lived for 51 years in her home in Seymore Avenue which was built by her husband in 1874. Her executive ability gained her high offices in all the organizations with which she affiliated and while she had been obligated to refuse heavy responsibilities of late years , she retained membership and an active interest in the societies. She leaves her husband, who is 81 years old and several nieces and nephews in this city and Winter Haven, Fla.

Page Twenty, The Utica Observer Dispatch, Tuesday, April 3, 1928 Funeral of Mrs. Rohm The funeral of Mary A. Rohm, wife of Anton Rohm, was held front her late residence, 1131 Seymour Avenue, yesterday afternoon, the Rev. D. Charles White of Calvary Episcopal Church read the Episcopal ritual service at the residence. Utica Review, No. 261 W..B. A., held their services yesterday afternoon at 1:10; Bacon Women's Relief at 1:30 and Oneida Council, No 204, Daughters of Pocahantas. at 1: 30. These societies and the Unter Uns of the Utica Maennerchor Choir attended the services yesterday in a body. Among the many floral tributes were a floral wreath from the employees of Bremer's store, a wreath from Utica Review, No. 151, W. B. A. a wreath from the Unter Uns and the Utica Maennerchor, a cross from Bacon Women's Relief Corps, No. 14, a floral Tomahawk from Oneida Council No. 204, Daughters of Pocahontas and a large floral cross from the King's Workers of Calvary Episcopal Church. Interment was made in Old Forest Hill Cemetery where the Rev. D. Charles White officiated at the committal services. The bearers were Fred Reusswig, George Reusswig, Bert Reusswig, Carl Bendix Jr., Ernest Bendix and George Schaub, cousins and nephews of the deceased. --------------------
