From the February 24, 1993, edition of the Dubuque (IA) Telegraph Herald Margaret Tinker MANCHESTER, Iowa -- Margaret Tinker, 94, of Manchester died after a brief illness at 3:35 pm Monday, Feb. 22, 1993, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester. Services will be at 11:30 am Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 pm today at Bohnenkamp-Theulen Funeral Home, Manchester, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 pm and a St. Ann's Study Club rosary at 7 pm. Mrs. Tinker was a homemaker. She had taught in rural Delaware County schools before her marriage. She was born on Aug. 11, 1898, near Greeley, daughter of Thomas and Ellen (McManus) Wiley. She married Edward James Tinker on Feb. 1, 1921, in St. Joseph's Catholic Chruch, Greeley; he died in 1977. She graduated from Edgewood High School in 1914 and attended the former Iowa State Teacher's College at Cedar Falls. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Ann's Study Club and various card clubs. Surviving are four sons, Philip Tinker of Coggon, Francis (and Shirley) Tinker of Sun Prairie, Wis., Jack (and Gladys) Tinker of Manchester, and Joe Tinker of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Mary Ellen (Mrs. Robert) Capesius of LaMotte; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Helen Cahalan of Garden Grove, Calif. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy Tinker, in 1967. Image Gallery
