Margaret van Voorhees; born circa 1702 at Flatlands, Kings Co., NY; married first Petrus Stoothoff, son of Garret Stoothoff and Johanna Nevius, 11 May 1723; married second David Nevius, son of Peter Nevius and Jannetje Schenck, 29 Mar 1728 at Six Mile Run, Somerset Co., NJ; died 23 Apr 1787 at Middlebush, Somerset Co., NJ.
She and her family moved to Six Mile Run before 1726. In Feb of that year Gerret Stoothooff deeded to Peter Stoothoff a tract of land on the Raritan River. The will of her father, Albert C. van Voorhees, dated 14 May 1747, names his daughter Margaret, now the wife of David Nevius. After Margaret's death the children she had by Petrus Stoothof are to have as much out of that proportion testator gave her as the children she had by David Nevius (see her father for more information). Margaret and David Nevius lived in Middlebush.
