    "At a Court held for Orange County [Virginia] on Thursday the 24th day of July, 1740 . . . Francis McCowin came into Court and Made oath that he imported himself Mary his Wife Mackham & Elizabeth McCowin from Ireland to philadelphia & from thence into this Colony at his own charge & that this is the first time of his proving his & their right in order to obtain Land wch is ordered to be certified."

  2.   The middle name was probably added much later by a descendant. Very uncommon to have middle names at the time she was born. The original Order book has been recopied since 1740, per Orange Co., Virginia.
