Funeral Today For Miss Lamb
Funeral service for Margaret Ann Lamb, 23, will be conducted at 4PM Thursday in Elliott's Chapel of Memories.
Miss Lamb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lamb, 844 Ambler Avenue was killed instantly about 11:25PM Tuesday when her car crashed into a Texas & Pacific train in Midland. In the car with her was Betty Sue Thompson, also formerly of Abilene, who was hospitalized in Midland for serious injuries.
Miss Lamb had been living in Midland about four months, working as a draftsman for the Stanolind Oil & Gas Co. She formerly had done similar work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. here and had alsoworked for Thurman's Photographic Studio.
A graduate of Abilene High School, she attended Hardin-Simmons University. She was born February 6, 1929 in Oklahoma.
In additional to her parents, she is survived by a maternal grandmother, Mrs. E.P. Slaughter, Chickasha, Oklahoma; two aunts, Roanna Adams, Chickasha and Mrs. J.E. Claxton, Oklahoma City and two uncles, A.C. Slaughter and Irl Slaughter, both of Abilene.
E.R. Harper, minister of Highland Street Church of Christ, will conduct final rites. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bob Pickle, B.C. Johnson, A.A. Hughes, Gaines Shults,J.T. Reid, Bob Presley, Bob Proctor and Jack Pursley.
