(Research):There is some question as to her actual last name. William H. Kellum writes in several places that it was Dutton. This would make her Margaret Dutton Kellum, the same name as Wm.'s sister. There are few or no Duttons in Accomac or Northampton during the time period she would have lived there. There is a Peggy Dorman recorded marrying a James Kellum just before Lewis' birth who was likely born a Dunton. I don't know how the Dunton name became associated with this person (James K.'s wife) originally. It was common in the area at the time, and may have been an assumption of an opportunity.

Hand written note by Lewis B. Kellum says: "Margaret Dutton Kellum was named for John Dutton (1795- ) a friend of her father's was a lime inspector at Northern Central R. R., probably employed by Baltimore City. Her father said at that time that his mothers's name also was Dutton. However we think this was probably an error and that his mother's name was Dunton." P.S. Are Dutton and Dunton different spellings for the same name?
