Current thinking is that Margaret Dutton was really Margaret Dunton, and that he simply remembered or wrote this wrong
"Answering you about my father would say he was born in Northampton Co. VA Nov 14, 1803 his father was James Kellum and his mother was Margaret Dutton second wife of James - the family moved to Nansemond Co. SW of Norfolk about 1808 or 10"
