Margaret “Mae” Brown age 89, of Leipsic and formerly of New Bavaria died January 7, 2016 at Meadows of Leipsic. She was born in Shelby, OH December 5, 1926, the daughter of Liguori and Laura (Maag) Crumrine. In 1947 she married Vincent Brown, who preceded her in death February 11, 2009. She was a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, past president of the Rosary Altar Society, and Certified CCD teacher. She was a charter member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #8847 New Bavaria and was a past president. Surviving are two sons, Gary (Carol), Englewood, FL and Keith, Bryan; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine (Bill) Helberg, New Bavaria and Mrs. Beverly (Shawn) Damico, Willoughby Hills, OH one brother, Clifford Crumrine, New Bavaria; sister, Mrs. Rita (Robert) Layne, Defiance; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Richard, Virgil, and Gilbert; sister, Ruth Neiling; and a grandson, Stefan Damico. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am January 11, 2016 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be in Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Sunday from 2-6:00 pm. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening. Preferred memorials are to the Right To Life, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Hospice Putnam County, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
