www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nymonnws/1918/July Child Is Burned While Playing With Fireworks Phelps, July 6 - Margaret BROSHARD, the five-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred BROSHARD, in West Main Street, was severely burned about the chest and face, yesterday, when her dress caught fire while she was attempting to light a sparkler. The child who was alone at the time of the accident with her clothes ablaze, ran to her grandfather, V. O. BROSHARD, in another part of the house and he succeeded in extinguishing the flames. While doing so he was badly burned about the hands. Although the child is suffering severe pain, her condition is not regarded as critical.
