!He was Mayor of Coamo from 1933 to 1937. He owned the garage (auto mechanic business) next to the Baptist church in Coamo. He was an only child, according to Maria Lucia Bernier. Not true, he had two sisters who died in 1899 at about two and ten years of age.) He married his first cousin, Carmen Teresa Santiago Bernier. Carmen's mother, and Marcos' father, were brother and sister.

!CENSUS: 1910 U.S. Federal Census of Coamo, Puerto Rico shows That Marcos was the only member of his family that spoke English. He is shown as attending school in Coamo and that he was fifteen years old and was born in Puerto Rico. The family lived on Calle Roman Baldosioty.

Segundo's age is given as 23 years of age and his parents are (Jose) Segundo Bernier and Petrona Rivera. Witnesses were were Lucas Cruz and Virgilio Santiago.

!BIRTH-DEATH-BURIAL: Buried in Coamo Municipal Cemetery (1921). Grave head stone gives birth date as 10 September, 1894 and death date as 28 November, 1960. Segundo and his wife Carmen are buried together.

!MAYOR: According to Pedro J. Roig Alvarado in "Genealogical History Of The Berniers" Marcos Segundo was Mayor of Coamo from 1933 to 1937.
