Magdalena Lauffer was a daughter of Christian Lauffer & Susanna Best. She married about 1785 to John Bash 1761-1850, son of Johann Martin "Martin" Bash & Catharine Shallenberger. They had ten children, most of whom were baptized by John William Weber of the 1st Reformed Church at Greensburg, PA: Susanna, Catherine, Maria, Susanna, John Jr., Martin, Jacob, Christian, Michael, and Henry.
John Bash was a farmer. He and his family lived along the Kiskiminetas River on a tract of land that his wife's brother, Adam Lauffer, purchased and later sold to her father, Christian Lauffer.

John and Magdalena Bash are buried side by side in St. James Lutheran Church cemetery. Her tombstone calls her simply Matty Bash, died Dec 13, 1838. John's brown sandstone headstone is no longer legible, as the front layer has shelled off.
