Obituary of Maybelle Irene Powell Palmer as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 20 Jul 1977. Camilla, Georgia. Mrs. Maybelle Powell Palmer, 87, died Monday morning at Mitchell County hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Parker Funeral Home in Camilla with interment following in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Rev. Edgar T. Davis officiated. Mrs. Palmer was born in Decatur County on September 29, 1889. She lived in Mitchell County for the last 80 years of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Camilla. She is survived by four sons: Jack Palmer of Camilla, Tobey Palmer of Cuthbert, Bill Palmer of Albany and Max Palmer of Gainesville, Ga; two daughters: Mrs. Stanley Shiver of Quitman and Mrs. Alfred Johnson of Camilla; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Parker Funeral Home was in charge.
