Mabel Bennett: Biographical Information

Mabel Bennett was the daughter of Ezekiel Bennett and Lula Davis Bennett. Ezekiel's father Adam Bennett was the enslaved overseer of Magnolia Plantation on the Ashley River in St. Andrews Parish, Charleston County, South Carolina.

Mabel was born July 11, 1911 in Charleston, South Carolina. She married Henry Payne June 16, 1935. Mabel joined the Springfield Baptist Church at an early age and later United with Olive Branch Baptist Church, where she served on the Missionary Board. She died July 21, 1985.
