Luther Doolittle... was born Jan 14, 1764 in Warwick, MA; was Lieut. in Continental Army. After the war he went to Vt. and m. Nov 13, 1781 Mary (dau of Paul) Hazelton, of Townshend... In 1784 he was one of a company from Townshend who marched to Brattleboro to withstand the Yorkes. He and Mary settled in Powell, VT. While on his way back alone on foot to Little Valley, N.Y., to get his family, he died at the home of one Dr. Ducky in Ill. or Ind., August 25, 1821. He had left s. Amzi in Ill. When Luther was taken ill he was 3 days finding a house...
