  7. As noted, reports of Luther's age varies widely. His birth could be from 1823 to 1831. His first wife Nancy being older, it is possible he was trying to appear older? His marriage in 1850 suggests his age at death may be wrong also, since it would make him not even 19 at the time of marriage, but perhaps that is the point? Without a birth record, this variability makes it impossible to make a good estimate of his birth.
