She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and taught Sunday School there for many years. She was a member of the literary club in Dayton, Ohio. She spent her summers in Madison from 1913 to 1917. In the later years, she purchased the Shrewsbury House at the corner of Poplar and First Streets, restoring it and making it her home.
