[edit] ===================================================Rome Sentinel, 15 July 2010: LUCY I. DURGEE Lucy I. Durgee, 95, formerly of Camden, and most recently a resident of the Lutheran Home, Clinton, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. She was born on August 3, 1914 in Kentucky, the daughter of John A. and Annie Webster Barclay. She relocated with her family to the Camden area and was a graduate of Camden High School. On February 7, 1941 she married Roland Durgee in Camden. Roland passed away on August 22, 1987. Lucy was employed in Camden at various times by New York Telephone Co., Acme Supermarket, Eileen Dress Shop and the Oneida County Savings Bank. She was an avid bowler and sports fan and was a dedicated follower of the former Syracuse Nationals basketball team, the Atlanta Braves and Syracuse University football and basketball. She was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church. Lucy is survived by her beloved sons and daughters-in-law, David and Miyoko Durgee of New Hartford and Gary and Lorraine Durgee of Cortland; five grandsons... She is also survived by a special "daughter," Cheri Lewis Durgee of Cicero, and numerous friends in Camden and at the Lutheran Home. She was predeceased by her brothers, John Amos, Elmer, Clay, Henry, Howard and William Barclay and a sister Virginia Benedict. Funeral services will be held Monday morning... at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. Rome, with Pastor Steve James officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Camden.
