Lucy Esta Arbogast Cantley, 92, of MacArthur, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at the home of her daughter following a long illness. Born April 6, 1909, at Indore, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Naomi Neal Arbogast. Mrs. Cantley was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was a member of Indore Methodist Church and attended Prince Church of God. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey W. Cantley; a son, Junior Cantley; a daughter, Doris Jane Cantley; four brothers and six sisters. Survivors include a son, Jack Cantley and his wife, Shirley, of Paradise, Calif.; four daughters, Joyce Meadows of Coal City, Naoma Lilly and her husband, Jim Bob, of Hinton, Carolyn Calhoun and her husband, Kenneth, of Daniels and Brenda Delp and her husband, Edsil, of Beckley; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. today at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with the Revs. Allen Shields, Marcus Day and Mark Schrade officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends called 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.
