Obit from Glidden Graphic Oct, 1946 Mrs. Louise Best, daughter of John B. Litze and Johanna (nee Mehring) Letze was born in Carroll Co. on May 24, 1880, she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and was a member of St. Johns Am. Lutheran Church in Grant twp. Glidden, since her marriage, on March 27, 1901 when she was united in marriage to Mr. Fred J. Best, who passed away on Sept 8, 1943. Mr and Mrs Best lived on a farm near Lidderdale for a number of years, but later retired to Glidden. Following the death of her husband, Mrs Best made her home with her children. For the past year she lived with her daughter, Agnes, who teaches in the Denison schools. Mrs Best had been in poor health for 3 years. She suffered a stroke on Sept. 20th, which required her removal to the Denison hospital. She departed this life on Sept. 25, at the age of 66 years, 4 mos. and 1 day. Mrs Best was preceeded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Mrs John Erler (Anne), Mrs Burt Davis (Catherine) and Agnes Letze, who died in infancy. Also 2 brothers, Albert and Gert Letze. She leaves to mourn, her daughter, Miss Agness Best of Denison; 2 sons Mr Bernard and John Best of Glidden; one sister, Mrs Geo. Juergens (Mary) of Glidden; two brothers, Mr John Letze of Summit S.D. and Mr Will Letze of Des Moines.
