In 1653, he was living in the town of Parce near La Fleche, Anjou. Louis enlisted to go to Canada on 24 April 1653. His contract, drawn up at La Fleche by notary Lafousse, promised Louis 60 livres advance wages in a contract drawn up by notary Gelliotte on 20 June. He arrived at Montreal on 16 November aboard the Saint-Nicolas with the Grande Recrue and was given a land grant at the end of his three-year enlistment, on 10 December 1656. In 1663, Louis was a member of the 19th squadron of Montreals’s Sainte-Famillle militia. ®19

On 19 January 1688, an act of guardianship was drawn up for the minor children of Louis Guertin and Elisabeth Camus. ®19

On 6 October 1659, Jacques (de Laporte dit Saint-Georges) signed the marriage contract of Louis Geurtin and Fille a marier Elisabeteh Camus.
