MOUNT VERNON — James Winston Beale, 87, of Range Line Road and formerly of Fairfield County, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

He was born March 10, 1920, in Nellie, Ohio, to the late Lewis and Burdetta (Ogle) Beale. James was employed as a service technician at Columbia Gas from which he retired. He taught ballroom dancing at the Arthur Murray Studios in Columbus and loved to winter in Maui, Hawaii.

He is survived by his two nephews, Charles (Brenda) Beale of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Ben (Julie) Beale of Northville, Mich.; five nieces, Theresa Dunkle of New Albany, Ohio, Lauren (Paul Strand) Beale of Palos Verdes, Calif., Lisa (David Paulson) Beale of Shelbourne, Vt., Melinda Muck of Baltimore, Ohio, and Brenda Beale of Zanesville, Ohio; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles Beale Sr. and Louis Beale.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private graveside service at a later date. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.
