Note from Teresa Weicht, descendant: She has posted his burial info at 'Find a Grave' and spells his name Louis and uses the 15 Aug 1806 birth date. She also has an interesting history of Louis on her website. See source for URL.
Some charts say that Lewis married a Mrs. Wren in Montgomery, Alabama. Teresa Weicht says he married her in Texas during the year he spent there when he took his slaves to Texas. "She was not liked by the girls who accused her of attempting to poison Lewis in order to get control of his property. Lewis sent her back to Texas." See citations for Teresa's website address.
