Facts and Events
Loring Peck, son of Jonathan, resided in Bristol, R.I., until May 1798, when he settled in Amenia, Dutchess County, N.Y. In 1811, he removed to the town of Lake Pleasant, Hamilton county, where he continued to reside until his decease. He died at the age of 89. He was a zealous patriot, and a prominent man during the War of the Revolution, in which, I am told, he held a Colonel's commission. He was a member of the state Legislature many years. He was twice married: first to Sarah Richmond, June 4, 1769, second to Jane Burk. His first wife died April 20, 1774. His second wife died in 1824. He died July 29, 1833. (See Page 144 of The Peck Genealogy.) Loring Peck, 1776, commanded a company in Col. Christopher Lippitt's regiment for the defense of the colony, and also served under Col. James Babcock. He was born at Bristol, 1744, and died at Lake Pleasant, N.Y. 1833. (See DAR Lineage Book, Page 303. Member 11803. Also No. 7772)
