She was born November 16, 1912 in Morgan Co., the daughter of John C. and Susan Jones Jackson. She was a member of New Mountain View Baptist Church of Oliver Springs, where she served as pianist for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. T. Mahoney in 1968; daughter, Emma Jean Whaley in 1997; Brothers, Clay, Lloyd and Max Jackson and sister, Pauline Jackson.

She is survived by son, Howard B. Mahoney and wife Carol of Waycross, GA; daughters, Judith M. Eaton and husband Lynn and Carolyn Stein and husband Julian; son- in-law, Leonard Whaley, all of Oliver Springs; 7 grandchildren, Mark Stein of Palo Alto, CA; James Stein of Shelton, CT; Jay Stein of Vienna, VA; Katherine Whaley Duncan of Andersonville; Glenda Cloutier of Cranberry Township, PA; Paulette Higginbottom of Marietta, GA and Howard Mahoney, Jr of Maceo, KY. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2004 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Joe Copeland officiating. The burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to New Mountain View Baptist Church, 381 Mahoney Rd., Oliver Springs, TN 37840 or Life Care Center of Morgan County, 419 S. Kingston St., Wartburg, TN 37887. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00- 2:00 pm at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. [Knoxville News Sentinal]
