Lloyd, became an influential man, President of the Board of Education, a founder and Director of The Harrison County Bank. At the formation meeting of that bank, the story goes, all details were worked out leading to the point where forty to fifty thousand dollars must be put up. Someone said, "Where will we get the money?" After a hush, Lloyd spoke up, "Gentlemen, I reckon I can let you have that amount."

Above 1900 census gives ALT birth date for Lloyd as Stout Lloydl June 1857. I have used the birth date found on Harrison County Birth Records Online. A second birth record was found for Lloyd at the same Online site give date as 26 Aug 1858.
