Apr 7, 1945 Mrs. Lillian Grimm, age 73 Dies at Convalescent Home The death of Lillian Grimm, 73, took place Saturday morning at 1:20 at the Greenwood convalescent home, 500 East King St, Garrett, In She had been ill a number of years from heart trouble and asthma. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Cedar Church of the Brethren. A former pastor, the Rev J. S. Flory, will officiate and burial will be made in Cedar Chapel cemetery. The body will remain at the George W. Her mortuary in Garrett until time for the services. Mrs Grimm was born Dec 5, 1871 at Ossian in Wells County, her maiden name being Housel. The family moved to St. John's in Butler Township, Dekalb county, when she wasa child and she was married to John P. Grimm of a mile south of St Johns, July 16, 1891. The ceremony was performed in Auburn the Rev. Meese. Mr Grimm died Feb 2, 1943, as the result ofa fall from a ladder at thier home in Cedar. The widow afterward lived in Ft Wayne with a daughter, Mrs. Ora Kuhlman, until she entered the Greenwood convalescent home last Nov 23. Surviving besides the daughter are a son, Waldo Grimm of 213 E. Houston St, Garrett, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Arthur Housel ofSt. Johns and Walter Housel of New Haven, and one sister Mrs. J. H. Moody of Portland, OR Mrs. Grimm was a member of the Methodist church at Butler Center.
