In his pension application, Cornelius Higgins refers to his first wife as Lida C Osborne, but he also refers to her as Eliza McPherson?

(He seems to be loose with the names. He served two enlistments as Cornelius H Melvin and two enlistments as Cornelius Higgins. His given reason, was because his mother did not want him to go back in, he signed up under a different name. He states that Higgens was his mothers maiden name. But on all of the marriage records we have, he does not give a mothers maiden name of Higgens!)
