    Lewis Keyes Newton7 (Calvin6, Marshall5, Obediah4, Thomas3, John2, Richard1), son of Major Calvin and Elizabeth (Keyes) Newton, was born in Shrewsbury, Mass., Thurdday November 14, 1797, at 2 A.M.; died in 1840; married Martha Borden.
    He removed with his father from Shrewsbury to Brattleboro, and Shoreham, Vt. He learned the clothier's trade in Shoreham, Vt., and moved to Salina, Mich., about 1836.
