From "De Tal Palo Tal Astilla" by Dr. H. W. Mills published by the Historical Society of Southern California, Vol. 10, #3, 1917 page 88: THE LIFE OF GEORGE MILLER, WRITTEN BY HIMSELF "...my only surviving brother, Lewis Miller, married Elizabeth Yates..." Circa 1810, Lewis Miller "moved back to Madison County, Kentucky, where he had married." (De Tal Palo... p. 88) On checking the 1810 Census for Kentucky on Heritage Quest I found only one Lewis Miller listed for KY. He was living in Richmond in Madison County, KY, p. 240. Lewis Miller and wife both 16-25, 1 female under 10. 1820 Census of Madison Co, KY, p. 69 has: Lewis Miller 26-44 with 1 male under 10, 2 females under 10, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 26-44, and 2 slaves. 1830 Census Index has a Lewis Miller still living in Madison County, KY. 1850 Census of Howard Co., MO, p. 253 has Lewis Miller, 65 born VA, Ann Miller, 47, born KY and Ann [Crews?], 11, born MO. THIS LEWIS MILLER CANNOT BE THE FATHER OF MARGARET, JOHN, JAMES AND ELIZABETH MILLER BECAUSE: 1. HIS WIFE WAS ELIZABETH, NOT SARAH, 2. HE WAS NOT DEAD BY 1826 WHEN MARGARET MARRIED, 3. THE 1820 CENSUS WOULD SHOW 1 FEMALE 10--15, 2 MALES UNDER 10 AND 1 FEMALE UNDER 10. References
