Permission is given for Margaret to marry John Kite by her mother, Sally Miller, her only parent living.

Boone County Deed Book G, p. 576: On the 3rd of February 1829, a Sarah Miller purchased property from Francis and Bulah Ennis for one hundred and thirty dollars. The land "being situated in the County of Boone State of Kentucky adjoining the land of Wm Smithey (formerly Hugh Moors) containing thirty five acres and two thirds known by the name of Lot No 2nd..." Sale was witnessed by Hezekiah Johnson, John Kite and George Kite. I believe that this was the mother of Margaret Miller, wife of John Kite.

Boone County Will Book C, p. 175: 13 June 1833 The appraisement of Sally Miller's property, Deceased. Appraisement made by H. L. Ross, J. H. Dudgeon, Geo McGeasson(?), and James Polly.

Boone County Will Book C, p. 189: 20 September 1834 Settlement of the estate of Sarah Miller made by James D. Polly, adm.

The actual sale of the estate does not appear in the will books. Sally Miller was deceased by the time her daughter, Elizabeth, married in 1838. So this Sally Miller could be mother of Elizabeth.

Garland Polly married Nancy Kite and Joel F. Dudgeon married Susan Kite. Both were sisters of John Kite, husband of Margaret Miller.

The 1820 Census of Boone has Margaret Miller on p. 22, line 10: 2 males under 10, 2 females under 10, 1 female 16 to 25, 1 female 26 to 44, and 1 female over 45. Could this be Sally Miller and children living with Margaret Miller, widow of John Jefferson Miller?

The 1830 Census of Boone has Margaret Miller on p. 274, line 8: 2 boys 15 to 19, 1 girl under 5, 1 girl 5 to 9, 1 girl 10 to 14, 1 female 30 to 39, and 1 female 70 to 79. Could this be Sally Miller and children living with Margaret Miller, widow of John Jefferson Miller?

In her book, "They Came to Kentucky", Kirkwood frequently mentions her belief that John J Miller, James Addison Miller, Margaret Miller and Elizabeth Miller were grandchildren of John J Miller and Margaret Pfeiffer. She thinks they are the children of Lewis Miller, but I'm sure she is wrong. Couldn't they be the children of their daughter, Sarah? Perhaps Sarah married someone named Miller!
