Lewis Lee Heine, 80, of Proctor, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Chris Jensen Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Lewis was born in Webb City, Missouri, to Hazel and Richard Young on February 10, 1938. He attended high school in Missouri and Texas. After graduating high school, Lee joined the Air Force. He served all over the world, in places such as Greenland, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Newfoundland, and stateside - where he proudly served two tours at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. While stationed at Ernest Harmon Air Force Base in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Joan Hicks. They were married at Holy Redeemer Cathedral Parish on June 10, 1964. Lee and Joan enjoyed 46 years of marriage, raising their four children and making many memories together. Lee retired from the Air Force in 1976 while stationed in Duluth, MN. After retirement, Lee went on to further his education at Duluth Vocational/Technical School, where he graduated with degrees in Culinary, Master Baker and Restaurant Management. He worked most of his civilian life in the food service industry, managing several resturants in the Duluth area and catering with his best friend, Frank Mortensen.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Heine; and infant child, Lewis Lee.
Lee is survived by his daughters, Dawn Heine of Duluth, and Robin Heine of Oregon; two sons, Stephen (Krystl) Wyatt-Heine of Anna, Texas, and Richard (Stacey) Heine of Hermantown; four grandchildren, A.J. Knudsen, Macie Morgan Heine, Madeline Elizabeth and Grace Marie.
