    Hazel Marie Young of Proctor passed away Mon., Jan. 7, 2008 in Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Proctor. She was 90.

    She was born on Jan. 24, 1917 to William and Macie (Moss) Crumrine in Webb City, Mo. Hazel graduated from Webb City High School in Missouri in 1935. She married Richard Young in 1951. At the age of 21 she went to Detroit, Mich. and worked for General Motors. She started out as a laborer and worked up to an inspector, retiring in 1972 after 40 years. After retirement, Hazel and her family lived in National City, Mich. She was a member of Road Patrol, very active in the community center, and enjoyed spending time with her husband in retirement.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Young in 2005.

    She is survived by her son Lee (Joan) Heine of Proctor, granddaughters Dawn Marie Heine (Jonathan) of Duluth and Robin Leigh Heine of Proctor, grandsons Steven (Krystl) Heine of Anna, Texas and Richard Paul (Stacey) Heine of Proctor, great-grandson A.J. Knudsen of Duluth, and great-granddaughters Macie Morgan Heine, Madeline Elizabeth Heine and Grace Marie Heine.

    Interment Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
