Letha or Lee, completed her primary education and attended South Bend Business College. After marriage, she lived in Highland Park, where she was the private secretary to Walter P. Chrysler, of the Chrysler Motor Car Company. Roy was employed by McInerney Spring and Wire Company. Later Lee and Roy went to England, where they were engaged in business for a short time, only to return to Highland Park. After a few years they moved to a home at Orchard Lake, Michigan, where they employed servants, and had many famous people visit, including Lou Gehrig. They operated a cattle ranch at Cheboygan, Michigan where they raised Hereford cattle. They also had a home in Boca Raton, Florida. Letha was widely known for her fabulous Christmas trees. She made all her own ornaments, mostly using blown-out egg shells. Several days were required to decorate the tree and she always had a host of friends and visitors during the Christmas season to view and enjoy the beauty of the tree.
