Lester H. Smith, 76 Brother of Elouise Juillerat Post and Mail, May 27, 1993

Lester H. Smith, 76, of Ligonier, IN, died at 2 A.M. Wednesday, May 26, 1993 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, He had been ill for three weeks.

He was born on May 28, 1916 in Whitley County, IN, a son of Ratio and Callie Hertsel Smith. He lived most of his life in Ligonier and was a carpenter and painter.

On September 23, 1946, he was united in marriage to Violet Rice. She died in 1988.

Mr. Smith was a member of Ligonier Elks Lodge.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Holsinger, of Ligonier and Jeannine Vilamaa, of Fort Wayne; a step-daughter, Ardith Keister, of Albion; a step-son, Patrick McDonald, of Angola; three sisters, Elouise Juillerat, of Churubusco, Orpha Parkison, of Wolf Lake and Lois Blanchard of Sarasota, FL; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a good friend, Patricia DePuy, of Fort Wayne, IN.

One daughter preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Ulrey-Renner Funeral Home, Ligonier, IN.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Crabill, officiating.

Burial willl be at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.

Memorials are to Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
