LEROY A. GERMAN, 67, of Slatington died Saturday, Oct. 24, in Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy A. (Bryfogle) German. They were married for 42 years last November. He was a saw operator and slate splitter at Penn Big Bed Slate Co. Inc., Slatedale, for about 50 years before retiring in 1996. He also worked at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. for several years. Born in Slatington, he was a son of the late James H. and Elsie (Mack) German. He was a Protestant. An Army sergeant during the Korean War, he received a Bronze Star. Survivors: Wife; son, James L., with whom he resided; daughters, Patricia Rehrig of Lehighton, Sharen, wife of Terry Rice of Slatington, Karen, wife of Alan Ravert of Danielsville, and Donna, wife of Jerry Schultz of Victoryville, Calif.; brother, Martin of Slatington, four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
