!BIOGRAPHY: From her mother's notice of her passing: "Mrs. Bitter's death was the result of pneaumonia, and occurred on February 4th, at her late home in New York City. ... Several happy years of Leona's childhood were spent at the old homestead in Boylston. From there, she went to Syracuse, where she met and married Frederick A. Bitter, son of the well known German music master Herr Henri Bitter. Later she moved to New York City. For several years both Mrs. Bitter and her husbanc have been known on the vaudeville stage as musicians of great talent. As a sweet singer, Mrs. Bitter has won much applause. She has always seemed in the best of health and the news of her death came as a shock to us all. It seems hard that one so young and beautiful should be called home in her early womanhood, but God knows best..."
