From source book by Oscar Burton Robbins, pg 327: "Leo was born and has spent most of his life in Rochester, New York. After finishing High School, he attended the University of Rochester and Pace and Pace school of accounting. In 1919 he accepted a position with the United States Government in Washington, D.C. It was during his stay in that city that he met and married Miss Edith Pauline Jackson of Columbia City, Indiana, who also was employed at that time in Washington. He returned to Rochester in 1922 as a Field Agent of the Treasury dept., in which capacity he is still serving (1949). The boys after serving in World Ware II, are now in College. Leo likes good books, good shows and good company. His mother was born of Irish parents soon after their arrival in Brooklyn. She was an orphan, her parents believed to have both died of smallpox soon after her birth. She was adopted by a John Sullivan family in New York City. . . His parents were George Valentine Fleckenstein and Mary Golden."
